New ‘Davida' armchair for Sofacompany. ‘Da vida’ means ‘brings to life’ in Spanish, and my dream with this piece is to design something where life and joy will unfold around it.
The design is simple and has clear references to the world of architecture with its clean lines and the metal leg frame which becomes a nice contrast to the armrest’s bright wood. The armrest of Davida is in fact quite something, as it goes all the way back around the backrest, sort of framing the chair. The armrest is furthermore wide enough to be used as a small table for a coffee cup or a book.
Davida comes in two versions – with a black metal leg frame and Italian aniline leather in a beautiful cognac shade; and with a chrome leg frame and a classic woven polyester quality in a natural melange of brown, off white and grey.
